Lip of the Day; Revlon Stormy Pink

Bonjour my pretties!

It's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday!!

Any plans for the weekend? I shall be glued to my tv watching XFactor......I can't wait to see what Cheryl/Dannii wear this week!

Anyway............

I think at the last count, I owned roughly 1422649856543997676 pink lipsticks.
This means nothing now I have Stormy Pink in my life!

Blurry iPhone photo....boo!

Another matte lipstick from the Revlon A/W range, this one is slightly creamier than Smoked Peach. Wearability is great, I only reapplied twice today.

Again, Revlon lippies are available from Boots/Superdrug.

Lip of the Day; Revlon Smoked Peach

Hi Girls,

I think for Winter I'm gonna concentrate on some Lip of the Day posts.......with maybe a FOTD thrown in for good measure. I'm having some body confidence issues at the mo, so you wont be seeing me from the neck down for a while!

Anyway......I give you Smoked Peach by Revlon.

Ooooooh Pretty!

Part of the A/W collection created by Gucci Westman, Smoked Peach is a matte lipstick......which can feel quite odd at first. I got over that after about 30 seconds when I realised how goddam pretty it is! It leaves me with lovely peachy lips, not too pale, not too bright. Perfect with a cosy Winter wardrobe of taupe jumpers and camel coats.

Available at Boots/Superdrug

FYI - this product was provided by the lovely PR folk at Revlon. It is something I was looking at purchasing anyway, so I was very happy to receive it!

NOTD; Barry M Nail Effects

I hunted high and low for this bad boy....but my god, was it worth it.

The idea behind it is you just slap it on over the polish of your choice and then sit back whilst it does it's own thing. Hello arty crackly nails!

£3.95 in Boots/Superdrug or on the BarryM website.

NOTD; Revlon Emerald City

Hello chickies!

Are you all having a super weekend?

I was lucky enough to be sent some goodies from the Revlon A/W Collection, one of which being the new Emerald City matte nail polish.

Look at how beautiful it is!!

As always, I used two coats to achieve maximum opaqueness......and I gotta say, this polish applies like a dream! As you can see, its not totally matte, which makes it different to all the other polishes I currently own. I love it, and am considering spending valuable Boots points on the Ruby version.

Whaddya think? Is a matte polish your thing?

Guess who's back?! Back Again.......

Enough with the referencing to an Eminem song....
I'm back!!!! YAY!

So....in the past month I have;

  • Moved house! After 4 months of living with the in-laws, Bloke and I moved into a new flat. Its right next to a shopping centre, which will probably lead to disaster and I'll end up broke. Although at least I'll know how to get to at least one place in Edinburgh now......being a Southern Softie with no sense of direction doesn't bode well when people ask me to go places.
  • Got a new job! Having walked out of the Tanning Salon over fears for my safety and sanity, I am now back doing what I love and was born to do..........playing with makeup all day!
  • Decided enough is enough! As soon as I have some spare pennies (end of Oct hopefully) I shall be joining Pure Gym in Edinburgh. Fit, lean and healthy is the new Black.
I have a mega backlog of things to blog about......please bear with me, we'll get through it together!

I shall leave you with this thought.........with less than 3 months til Christmas, have you started your list yet?

NOTD; Chanel Paradoxal

I'm blaming this purchase entirely on peer pressure.

Picture the scene.........after weeks of umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to purchase Paradoxal on it's release, I had decided to leave it. Somehow I found myself in John Lewis ridiculously early on Saturday morning hovering around the Chanel counter, having ran away from the Bloke who wanted to do grown up things like buying cushions.
I only went to just look at the bottle in person.............honest.

And then it happened...........somehow the Chanel Boy convinced me I needed it in my life. Out came my debit card and one £16.50 transaction later this little baby was mine!

It's mostly grey-based, with a purple shimmer through it. Blink and you'll miss it though.....

Having said that, I think I may have found my new most favourite thing ever. Just look at it........it's all murky and dingy.

And I LOVE it.

This is a ltd edition, so if you really want it I suggest you hotfoot it to your local Chanel counter ASAP.

FYI - this product was purchased by me for review.....i am considering purchasing a back-up cos i love it so much....

NOTD; Models Own Misty Grey

(with added bling)

I love this.

That's pretty much all I can say about this colour.

I want more grey polishes now.....

Pantene Aqua Light; I've got that loving feeling

Hi Girls,

Are you having a good hair day?

I have long fine hair, and I have lots of it. In the past, this has generally meant I can wash my hair on Day 1 and by Day 1.5 it looks rank......all weighed down and a wee bit greasy.

It has been roughly 10 years since I used Pantene....I loved the smell, but it just did *nothing* for my teenage wannabe gothic hair. Luckily, that phase passed pretty quickly. I think it coincided with me discovering fake tan......but that's another story.

So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Pantene were releasing the Aqua Light range, specially for crap fine hair like mine! Off I trotted to Sainsburys, where the whole range was half off. Not thinking about whether I'd like it or not, I bought the biggest sizes possible........

So.........what did I think?

It was love at first wash.

My hair has never felt so bouncy and swishy...and I can honestly say I can make it to Day 3 before I need to wash my hair again. Hurrah!

Girls, you need this in your lives.

FYI - this was purchased by me for review, and will continue to be repurchased forever more.

Review; Vaseline Cocoa Butter Gel

This doesn't look like the most exciting of things....does it?

For me though, this is my new Holy Grail body nourishment.

I've been a Palmers Cocoa Butter Oil girl for ages now, I tried the Johnson&Johnson Baby Oil Gel...neither of them were right for me. So imagine my delight when I spied this in Boots last weekend......it was in my basket quicker than I could blink!

Now.....I haven't used this every day. I think if I had, I'd have probably left grease marks on everything I touched. But the two days this week I have used it have been the happiest, most moisturised days ever.

You can buy it from Boots here where it currently has 1/3 off.

Guess who's back?!

Hi Girls,

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the lack of posts recently.............I've had some personal issues and have quit my job in the Tanning Salon for fear of an imminent breakdown.

Anyway..............this means I've got much more blogging time on my hands!

Coming up over the next couple of weeks;

Yet more Models Own polishes
Nutrogena Pink Grapefruit cleanser
No17 Wild Curls Mascara
Pantene Aqua Light range

Stay tuned!

MAC/Rodarte......my two penneth

Hands up if you want to look like this?

No.........me neither.

Sure, the lipglass is pretty....but totally unusable for fear of ruining the stripeyness. And who the hell would buy the eyeshadow?! My eyes are red enough in the morning.

Happy Anniversary........now where's my present?

Wednesday 14th July was mine and Bloke's anniversary........but due to both of us working, we decided to celebrate it on the Thursday instead.

My OOTD;

Jumper - £12 New Look Sale
Jeggings - £18 M&S

After a hearty breakfast of bacon rolls in the M&S cafe, we headed off into town for some shopping fun. It wasn't long before we ended up in Mecca......I mean MAC, where I promptly fleeced that poor Bloke of mine out of £99.

My purchases;

I got the very last Stereo Rose in stock (cue stupid happy dance)

MSFN in Medium+

3 of the most amazing lippies ever!

I also walked away with Fix+ and some Pro Eyemakeup Remover.........boring things compared to the rest!

I'm sure you've all seen swatches of Stereo Rose on other blogs, as well as the lippies....but should you wish to see what they look like on my mug, gimme a shout!

Other presents included...

* Revlon Nail Polishes
* £25 iTunes voucher (so i can secretly download JLS without anyone knowing.........oops)
* Clinique Happy

Once we were all shopped out, we headed to All Bar One for foodstuffs....

He's going to hate me for posting this picture.

Unfortunately, we were far too hungry to take pictures of our food before eating (not that you really need to see what we ate!) but I have to say, I had the most AMAZING burger ever.......it was all herby, with caramelised onions and camembert! Yum!

And they serve beer for girls!

It's pink!

What happened after beer and food is far too much of a drunken shambles to blog about.......all in all, a fucking brilliant day!

P.S - what did I buy Bloke? nothing as yet............I'm a bad girlfriend.

NOTD; A little bit of Revlon love.....

Hiya loves!

Hope you're all well?

Last week was mine and Bloke's anniversary.......I'll do a separate post on that later. Anyway, part of my present were these rather lush Revlon polishes.

L-R; Minted and Lilac Pastelle

I flippin love how they look on my nails!

Really soft pastels, nice creamy formula.......these are a definite two-coater to achieve maximum opaqueness, but they dry quickly so you don't have to hang about all evening.

I reckon Bloke did quite well picking these out himself, don't you?

Just looking at these colours makes me want some ice cream/love hearts/minty green bonbons right now! Bonbons are diet-friendly............right??

Tuesday 13 July 2010

Haul of Plenty!

Good Evening!

Over the weekend, I got a little chip&pin happy in my local Boots......

L-R; Mushroom & Pink Flamingo

Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Peach

No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser

I also went a bit mad in River Island and New Look........there's far too much to picture here!
I'll provide proper reviews of my purchases shortly.

Did you buy anything nice this weekend?

Thursday 8 July 2010

NOTD - Models Own Peach Sherbet

Models Own Peach Sherbet

Firstly.......what a lush colour!
It's a two-coater to give complete opaqueness, but its a total dream of a polish to apply.

Mannequin hands with a twist :)

What nail colours are you loving this Summer?
